Description
Keyhole rubber fender is characterized by the keyhole-shaped opening on the inside; it is designed for tugboats and workboats. The working principle of the keyhole rubber fender is that it absorbs the kinetic energy of a vessel berthing against it by compressing its rubber body. The keyhole shape of the fender allows it to deform more easily than other types of fenders, which helps to reduce the impact force on the vessel. These fenders are very tough but can still be curved around the hull allowing fixing of this product to be very simple.

Types
Keyhole fender is made of high abrasion-resistance rubber and manufactured by extrusion or moulding. They will be extruded when in lengths and moulded when requiring blocks.
Depending on the resistance and grip necessary, keyhole fenders are made with a flat face or grooved face. This type of fenders can also be developed with a UHMW-PE surface layer like with the composition fender.

Installation
Keyhole Fenders are very easy to install and maintain. The two mounting holes facilitate easy and accurate installation. They can be supplied cut and angled to suit the vessel hull. Be produced with curves around the hull is also available. The simplicity of installation and replaceability makes this type of fender a highly economical solution

Applications
Keyhole fenders are tough and robust and are usually used to protect the ships’ bow and stern, widely used in various sized and designs on:
Tugboats
Barges
Workboats
Quays
Bridge Sections
